Mr. Inoue received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo in 1985 and his M.A. in Economics from Yale University in 1992. In addition to serving as Counselor at the Bank of Japan, he also served as Secretary to Governor Fukui and as Executive Staff to Dr. Ueda, Member of the Policy Board. In 2008, he joined the Nomura Research Institute, where he conducted research on monetary policy and digital currencies in major economies. Since 2026, he has been responsible for similar themes at FinCity Tokyo and Sony Financial Group.He frequently appears as TV commentator and writes number of articles.
