Dea Markova is Director of Policy at digital asset infrastructure provider Fireblocks, where she leads the global policy function, with direct responsibility for advocacy, political and regulatory intelligence, and go-to-market regulatory enablement across EMEA and APAC. Her team focuses on digital asset security and operational resilience, and engages in strategic alliances to support responsible growth across the payments and investment uses cases of digital assets, tokenised payments, and financial instruments.
Dea previously led political intelligence and advocacy campaigns in the EU, as Europe developed its regulations for the crypto sector. She relocated back to Europe after her post in the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where she served in the MAS Financial Technology and Innovation Group. She was previously in London for 10 years, working in fintech and banking regulation.
