This whitepaper presents strategies and best practices for reframing the concept of digital sovereignty and for reimagining European innovation ecosystems to better build digital capacities within Europe. The paper also extends the digital sovereignty lens to digital payments, and highlights steps that Europe can take to drive greater autonomy in the field of digital payments.
