Dear ,
“Gradually, then suddenly!”
Over the past few months, this quote from a famous book has been following me everywhere. It’s from The Sun Also Rises by the late Ernest Hemingway and relates to any major change and the way it happens. This insight feels particularly relevant in today’s financial services landscape, as we witness firsthand how quickly transformations unfold.
A great example of this is how Generative AI exploded onto the scene in November 2022 and changed the world as we know it. Or how the fintech funding winter crept up and engulfed the industry in that same year.
With the Singapore FinTech Festival fast approaching, the team is working round the clock to make sure we deliver a special experience. Our programme will help to frame what we can expect in 2025 from a policy, finance and tech perspective, and how to navigate the changing landscape.
There will be a whole suite of programmes that will bolster opportunities for business growth. We'll be shining a spotlight on key growth markets of India, South-East Asia, Japan and the latest developments in Europe, Africa and the US. With the US election results being announced during the week of SFF, we will be having a session which will frame the impact on business, markets and the geopolitical environment.
On an inspirational note, we’ll also be celebrating the iconic journey of Piyush Gupta, a friend of the Elevandi family and leading voice in the finance community. It's likely to be his last big stage appearance before he retires from DBS Bank.
Lastly, stay tuned for a huge “gradually, then suddenly” announcement, which will be a game-changer for both Elevandi and the global community. I can't wait to share more when the news breaks very soon. It will be EPIC!
So gear up, take your vitamins and I look forward to seeing you at the Festival.
Cheers,
Pat Patel,
Executive Director, Elevandi
