      Last year in Accra, Ghana, during the 3i Africa Summit, a closed-door session brought together Governors and a carefully selected group of partners from across the continent to deliberate on achieving retail payments interoperability in Africa.

      Today, at the Inclusive FinTech Forum 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda, the momentum continued with the Special Announcement of Africa’s Next-Gen DPI: Project 54.

      Hon. John Rwangombwa, Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, delivered his remarks on this milestone initiative.
