This report summarises the results of the roundtable on programmable compliance held at the Point Zero Forum 2026 in Zurich. Speakers included representatives from the public and private sector, as well as from academia. The roundtable was chaired by Dr. Stefan Härtner, Senior Legal & Policy Specialist at the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA. It was moderated by Prof. Nina Reiser, Associate Professor of Financial Market Law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and affiliated with the Centre for Financial Services Innovation (FSI-HSG). The discussion addressed how compliance can be encoded into digital financial infrastructure, the use cases and risks this creates, and how regulators should respond.
