The session marked the launch of Phase 2 of Project MindForge, a collaborative initiative led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and a consortium of financial institutions. This next phase focuses on developing actionable frameworks and strengthening capacity for responsible AI adoption in financial services.

 

1. AI governance handbook and toolkits

  • A comprehensive AI Governance Handbook will offer practical guidance for applying responsible AI principles across financial institutions.
  • The updated Veritas AI Toolkit will address emerging challenges, integrating governance into model development and risk management.

2. Capacity building and ecosystem growth

  • Phase 2 emphasizes equipping financial professionals with skills to innovate responsibly.
  • Collaboration will expand to include technology providers, consulting firms, and industry associations to strengthen Singapore's AI ecosystem.

3. North Star: Holistic AI governance

  • The project aims to create a robust framework addressing risks and opportunities, from cybersecurity to ethical use, ensuring AI adoption aligns with transparency, fairness, and accountability.

 

Phase 2 of Project MindForge is a significant stride towards enabling financial institutions in Singapore to harness the potential of AI while navigating its challenges. With a focus on collaboration, governance, and innovation, this initiative sets a global benchmark for responsible AI in financial services.
