Her Majesty Queen Máxima Hosts the International Advisory Board of the Global Finance & Technology Network at Huis ten Bosch Palace
Singapore, 3 November 2025 - Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands hosted the members of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) for a meeting at Huis ten Bosch Palace on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.
Queen Máxima, who is the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), has served as Chair of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the Global Finance & Technology Centre (GFTN) since 1 July 2025.
GFTN operates at a global level to advance efficient, resilient and inclusive financial systems. This meeting marked the inaugural gathering of the IAB, convened to advise GFTN on the opportunities and risks associated with the use of technological innovation in the delivery of financial services.
The GFTN hosts a global network of forums, including the Singapore FinTech Festival, the world's largest gathering for the FinTech community. Queen Máxima has participated in the festival on several occasions in her UNSGSA role, supporting efforts to expand and strengthen financial access and well-being.
To further its mission, GFTN introduced the Global Impact Champions Awards earlier this year - a total of 130 applications were received. The awards recognise FinTech startups whose innovative and scalable solutions contribute to financial health. During the IAB meeting, three of the 15 finalists presented their projects to the advisory board.
The award winners will be announced during the 10th anniversary of the Singapore FinTech Festival, which runs from 12 to 14 November 2025 at the Singapore Expo, which is preceded by the invite-only Insights Forum™ from 10 to 11 November 2025 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
